Having an NDIS plan is an important step towards achieving your personal, life or work goals. At ISM we take pride in financially assisting our clients to help them further their progress and improve their quality of life.
But because the NDIS is a relatively new and a continuously changing scheme, it can be very complex to navigate. In fact, there may be many participants or even representatives missing out on a possible range of supports or services.
So, how can you know if you may be missing out? We’ve put together three things you may be missing out on in your NDIS plan right now.
1. Easy online product procurement
Do you have a hobby, passion or require a product to improve your quality of life?
At ISM, we are able to make your idea (as long as it is related to your disability) a reality, without the hassle of scouring the internet or in-store. Items can be purchased with the help of our Plan Managers (PM’s) with the use of your consumables funding.
Many of our current clients have said before signing up with ISM that they had no idea they could purchase such unique and creative products using their NDIS funding.
Call us today to find out if we can help you with your product inquiry or idea.
2. Assistive technology (AT)
If you require any form of assistance in your day to day life, but haven’t yet taken advantage of your AT funding in your NDIS plan, you are missing out.
Assistive technology encompasses products or tools that are assistive to your daily life, or encourages rehabilitation. Products and equipment include but aren’t limited to:
- Adjustable electric beds or chairs
- Hoists
- Shower chair
- Prosthetic limbs
- Walking frame
- Mobility scooter
But did you know you can get creative with your AT? Many people don’t.
A piece of AT that can help you cut your nails yourself, or grabbing (claw) to help you pick up dropped items can also come under AT. As long as the technology is deemed reasonable and necessary, our team at ISM may be able to help you.

3. Choosing the way you manage your NDIS funds
Did you know there is more than one way to manage your NDIS plan?
You can choose between managing it yourself (self-management), signing up for a professional Plan Management service, or even choose a combination of the two. It is important to consider your personal needs and requirements when choosing how you manage your plan, to make sure you get the most out of your funding.
To help you make this decision, we created this free NDIS Shopping List download!
These are just three things many NDIS participants were missing out on before working with ISM.
